Hi, I’m Michael Gines. I grew up in South Philly, singing into my toy screwdriver pretending it was a microphone. Michael Jackson or Madonna would come on the radio, and it just moved me. As a kid, I just knew that music felt so good. And so I followed that feeling. I started breakdancing, and DJing at family events — then, due to a random conversation with an LA Fitness salesperson outside of an Acme, I got hired by an entertainment company as a professional breakdancer. (It pays to talk to strangers!) An entertainer at heart, since my childhood, I was so proud to start my own entertainment company, Perfect Match Entertainment, in 2018. After years of DJing and MCing for companies like New York Entertainment, DJs Available, and Hot Hot Hot Entertainment, I finally got to bring my clients the music experience they desired — directly — from start to finish. Perfect Match! :)
These days, I’ve replaced breakdancing with rolling around on the floor with my three kids. Music has always been a place of bonding for us. The sounds, the beats, the melodies — and yes, the cool buttons that light up — make them so happy! They love DJing, and I think your kids will, too. That’s why I started my second company, Play More Entertainment.
I truly believe music makes the world a better place. It inspires. It motivates. It energizes. As a teenager when I worked on the docks in Philadelphia, I asked why they played the music so loud. My boss responded, “It’s the only way we can work.” Plainly put, music makes things happen.
